It is REQUIRED that you complete an "On-Line" registration, or advise the Training Officer at least one week before the course starts if you plan to attend this course. Your advance registration is required so that we may be sure to have sufficient materials available for everyone in the class. The balance of the registration process will be completed at 18:30 (6:30 PM) on the first night of class.

The Marine Maintenance course is designed to familiarize all boat owners, both power and sail, with the various systems on board.

Although it might be considered a home study course, professionals from throughout the marine industry come each week to the classroom to lecture on pertinant topics of interest.

You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you have about your own boat and you will learn valuable tips which will save time and money in the pursuit of your hobby.

The ten week course discusses the hull, general maintenance, the electrical system, marine engines (gas and diesel), fuel systems, ignition system, lubrication, engine cooling, outboards, seasonal maintenance, heads, and stoves.

If you participate in this course, you may not become a mechanic, a shipwright, or an electrician, but you will certainly be better equipped to deal with small issues before they become major problems.
